Who knows? It's such a general question, and it depends so much on what you like and why you are coming to Las Vegas in the first place. So the best and worst depend on a number of factors, some of which we have in common and some of which are individual and personal. However, all that aside, here is what we think of the question, what are the best and worst times to visit Las Vegas?
The Best Time To Visit Las Vegas is...
The best time to visit Las Vegas is in the fall, right after school starts, or in the Spring, but not during easter break. During these periods you'll be able to enjoy the best weather in the world, with warm but mild tempuratures and crowds that are at a medium. Not too busy and still enjoyable for most people.
The late spring in Las Vegas is spectalular weather. We are likely to see mid 80s during the period, with zero or near zero rainfall. Skies will be blue every day and evenings will be cool and mild. Even though Las Vegas is hot all summer, because we are in the high desert here (2200ft) the evenings can be cool. Many people are unaware if this and don't come prepared for it. We suggest a medium sweater to keep the chill off in the evenings, even if the day times are warm enough to lay by the pool.
One period to avoid if you can is Spring Break and the Easter Holiday period. Las Vegas is usually packed, for all the reasons mentioned above, as people from all over the country try to escape the colder weather climates. With school out for a week, Las Vegas is an obvious choice for the college crowd coming of age for the first time. They will show up in droves to drink themselves stupid. Hotels will be packed with rowdies from all over. It's a beautiful thing if you are one of them and a horror if you are not.
The Worst Time To Visit Las Vegas is...
Early Summer, during the World Series of Poker. And we say this for a number of reasons and for a number of different factors. None the least of which is that the combination makes Las Vegas a really terrible choice, over all, for the Forth of July! Okay, now I know that sounds pretty ominous, but hear me out on this.
Beginning in June, The infamous World Series of Poker will come to town and hold dominion over Las Vegas for nearly six weeks. THat means for that a month and a half, over 10,000 participants will be hear filling up the hotel rooms and vacation homes all over town. They will be accompanied by a plethora of media and press from all over the entire globe.
To this we add...school's out!!! So here they come, from all over the world, people! Families, newlyweds, friends, romans, countrymen, they all flock to Vegas when school lets out. So now with those two factors, everr room in town is booked, every vacation rental is rented, and every price in town is at its highest point. But wait, there's more! Don't answer yet, we haven't told you about the weather!
You know Las Vegas gets hot, right? Well when June rolls around, the tempurature really starts to climb. Day times will be in the high 90s to 110s. Night time will only cool off about 10 degrees. In Las Vegas it will never be cooler than almost 90s at any time, day or night, from June until almost September. This is the period where Las Vegas gets it hot reputation. Well, that and the showgirls. :)
So there you have it. Now you know when the best and worst times to come to Las Vegas are. But we have to admit, we love Las Vegas so much that we think it is always a good time to be here. This is a really special place. We just want you to know when the best times to visit are, so you can have the best chance to see what a wonderful and fun place we live in.
