Many people come to Las Vegas for the food. And it's true, Las Vegas offers some of the most amazing meals available anywhere. In recent years our town has drawn the world's greatest chef's to open their own restaurants. This has led to a virtual glut of gourmet food in Las Vegas with hundreds of new recipes for making everything in a new way.
Fresh Ingredients and Good Preparation Matter Most
But sometimes the best meals come together from simple recipes using good quality fresh ingredients. Many chefs will attest to the fact that fresh ingredients are the foundation of any good meal. Along with proper preparation, these two things are literally 90 percent of what matters for flavor and texture. This is the philosophy behind the food and cooking at The Lotus of Siam.
A Las Vegas Local's Secret
The Lotus of Siam is a Las Vegas local's secret, and for a good reason. The food is simply deliciously fresh and flavorful and the preparation is spot on traditional Thai. With ingredients brought in fresh daily from Los Angeles and prepared with the care and attention of a family meal, it is not uncommon to see a line out the door on almost any nite of the week.
Lorus of Siam's chef and founder Saipin Chutima is an award winning master chef who has been decorated repeatedly for her cooking skills. It is her philosophy that makes this place what it is and keeps it at the top of the list for excellent food in Las Vegas year after year. Nearly every notable food award hes been given to her and to her restaurant over and over again.
Although this restaurant offers excellent food, it is not what you might expect for a Las Vegas favorite as far as looks. Located in a substantially dated strip mall just off Sahara Blvd, the Lotus of Siam shares this 1950s beauty with several other restaurants offering regional food. Across the mall are some interesting shops as well as an adults only places you can visit if you are so inclined.
Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover
But don't let the looks of this place stop you! The Lotus of Siam is well worth the effort and actually quite easy to get to. There is plenty of parking right out front and you wont be alone when you get here. You will likely meet new friends as you spend some time waiting to taste this amazing Thai food.
The Lotus of Siam is located at 953 East Sahara Avenue, Suite #A5, Las Vegas. Take Sahara east from Las Vegas Blvd for about 3/4 of a mile. Watch for the strip mall entrance on your right. Turn right into the mall and then right again at the stop. The restaurant will be on your immediate right.
Lotus of Siam can be reached by phone at (702) 735-3033. They are open for lunch and dinner on weekdays and for dinner only on weekend evenings. Reservations are highly recommended at least one day in advance. For more information see the Lotus of Siam website www.saipinchutima.com
